Christian apologetics is the discipline of defending and presenting the rationality, coherence, and truthfulness of the Christian faith. This course equips students with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to engage in thoughtful dialogue and persuasive argumentation on behalf of Christianity. Through a combination of historical, philosophical, scientific, and theological approaches, students will learn how to address common objections, challenges, and misconceptions about the Christian worldview. The course will cover key topics in apologetics, including the existence of God, the reliability of Scripture, the problem of evil, the historical evidence for Jesus’ resurrection, and the relationship between faith and reason. Students will explore various arguments and evidences for the Christian faith, critically evaluate alternative worldviews, and develop persuasive strategies for communicating the gospel effectively in diverse cultural contexts. Additionally, the course will foster intellectual humility, respect for opposing viewpoints, and a commitment to truth-seeking and dialogue. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to engage confidently and winsomely in apologetic discourse, strengthening their own faith and effectively engaging with others.
